Greetings,

 

On behalf of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Delta Beta Chapter, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our official website. My name is Truth Marsh and I serve as the 57th president of the Dynamite Delta Beta Chapter at Southern Illinois University.

 

For 72 years, our chapter has implemented programs, volunteered our services, and continued to commit to bettering the Carbondale, Illinois community and surrounding areas. Throughout our time on the beautiful campus of SIU, we have also sustained a deeply rooted and profound relationship with our current, and alumnae Delta Beta sisters. Since 1952, more than 570 unique women have been initiated into Delta Beta, and dozens of other transfer sisters call Delta Beta their home. No matter where we are, or how far they are, we are always dedicated to strengthening our sisterhood. 

 

Under the leadership of International President, Danette Anthony Reed, the 2022-2026 International Program, “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood™” will focus on the following 6 initiatives for the next 4 years:

​Strengthen Our Sisterhood will serve as the administration’s “Foundation Initiative” as we strengthen our bonds to support our service mission. The remaining five initiatives serve as the “Program Initiatives”: Empower Our Families, Build Our Economic Wealth, Enhance Our Environment, Advocate for Social Justice, and Uplift Our Local Community. These initiatives are designed to improve the lives of those we serve.
